Build-to-Rent Leasing Manager
Derby
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Leasing Manager to take a key role within a growing Build-to-Rent operation in Derby.
This is a senior, hands-on position with real responsibility. You’ll take ownership of leasing performance across a high-quality residential portfolio, driving occupancy, rental income and customer experience whilst helping to grow the wider lettings and property management business.
We’re looking for someone who understands residential lettings inside out, is commercially switched on and knows how to get results.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day leasing performance of the portfolio, managing everything from marketing and applicant enquiries through to move-ins and tenancy commencement.
You’ll also play an important part in the continued growth of the business, developing relationships with investors and identifying opportunities to bring additional properties under management.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Driving occupancy and keeping void periods to a minimum
- Overseeing the full lettings process from initial enquiry through to move-in
- Carrying out rental market appraisals and helping set pricing strategy
- Developing new business and bringing additional units under management
- Building strong relationships with residents, landlords and investors
- Improving resident retention and tenancy renewal levels
- Supporting the launch and lease-up of new Build-to-Rent developments
- Managing and developing members of the leasing and resident services team
- Overseeing external agents, contractors and other suppliers
- Ensuring the portfolio remains fully compliant with lettings legislation
- Monitoring leasing performance and producing reports for senior management and investors
What We’re Looking For
You’ll ideally already be working within Build-to-Rent, residential lettings, property management or the wider multifamily sector and be ready to take on a role with greater responsibility.
You should have:
- Strong knowledge of residential lettings and current legislation
- A track record of delivering occupancy and revenue targets
- Previous experience managing or developing a team
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The confidence to deal with residents, landlords and investors
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple developments
- Experience using property management and CRM systems
Previous experience of launching or leasing-up a new Build-to-Rent development would be particularly useful, as would an ARLA Propertymark qualification or equivalent.
